Privacy Policy

ChordWise respects your privacy. To operate the app and continue improving it, we collect usage analytics with your explicit consent. If you do not consent, you cannot use the app. We do not collect your personal content (such as recordings, contacts, or photos) and we do not sell data.

What we collect

Once you agree to the consent notice shown in the app, ChordWise uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect the following:

• Sessions: number of sessions per user (open/close), session duration, and time between sessions (retention).
• Screen navigation: which screens are visited, in which order, and where users drop off or leave.
• Feature usage: quizzes played; whether the Live button is pressed; number of chords recognized.
• Engagement: total interactions (taps, swipes), number of correct/incorrect answers, number of chords or exercises played.
• Technical info: app version, operating system (Android/iOS), country and language settings, screen size, device type, and connection type (Wi‑Fi / mobile).

Legal basis & consent

In the EU/EEA the legal basis is consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The consent screen and a link to this policy are shown before analytics are collected. Because analytics are required for the app to function as intended, we do not provide a separate in‑app setting to toggle consent on/off. If you do not agree, you cannot use the app.

Withdraw consent

You can withdraw consent at any time by removing (uninstalling) the app from your device. We will continue to collect analytics data only while you use the app. After uninstall, no new analytics are collected from your device.

Data retention

Event data in Google Analytics for Firebase is retained for a rolling period configured in our analytics property. Our current retention setting is 2 months; data older than this is automatically deleted by Google.

Data sharing & processors

Analytics data is processed by Google as our service provider (processor). We do not share analytics data with other third parties and we do not sell data.

Security

Analytics data is transmitted via HTTPS and stored by Google under industry‑standard security. We access aggregated reports only.

Children

ChordWise is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we add features that require different data processing, we will update this policy and clearly notify users in the app and here.
